Whistle blowing and employee protection

The latest update from the Remedy business advice series had a legal slant and looks at how whistle blowers are treated.

An employee dismissal is deemed to be automatically unfair and the usual two-year qualifying period of employment will not apply, if the principle reason for that dismissal was whistle-blowing. This can be difficult for business owners as sometimes complaints are not immediately recognised as whistle-blowing.
