New EU VAT regulation affects digital product sales

If your business sells e-books, e-courses, recorded training videos, music and audio downloads to customers in EU countries, a new EU VAT regulation coming into effect on 1 January 2015 will have implications for your business.

The new rules were brought in to remove unfair competition between online traders registered in EU states with very low VAT rates, and traders based in member states like the UK with higher standard VAT rates.
