Can I offer roles to women before men?

Yes you can.

The Equality Act 2010 contains provisions concerning lawful “positive action”, which are designed to apply where persons who share a protected characteristic suffer a disadvantage, for example disabled employees, have particular needs or are disproportionately under-represented.

An example of ‘positive action’ could be in response to a gender pay gap whereby a company could offer roles to women before men of equal capability in an attempt to close that gap.
