Companies who are due to submit a paper VAT Return for the period ending 31 March 2011, should note that the deadline has been brought forward because of the bank holiday for the Royal Wedding on 29 April.

The VAT Return must arrive with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) no later than Thursday 28 April. If payment is made by cheque, it must clear HMRC’s account by the same date. Cheques normally take three bank working days to clear.

Having made this announcement to warn companies, that will not accept excuses for missing the payment deadline, so you have been warned.
