NHS Innovations East this week launched a new competition to fund medical innovations with a focus on care of people with long-term conditions in order to facilitate:

1.) Delivery of care closer to the home.
2.) Emowerment of people to take greater control and responsibility of their health and care.

The scheme will fully fund a 6 month project of up to £100,000 to prove technical feasibility of a new solution. Successful projects will be invited to pitch their ideas to an invited audience of venture capitalists and angel investors towards the end of their projects to raise further finance.

Applicants need to move fast as the competition opened on 28th February 2011 and closes on 7th April 2011.
