Micro-business exemption “will cause damage”

An overwhelming majority of finance professionals believe the government’s proposals to exempt micro-businesses from having to file accounts at Companies House will make it harder for firms to access trade credit.

According to new research from Graydon , the exemption proposals will likely result in suppliers not extending credit to their customers. The commercial credit referencing agency found that 88% of firms polled would ask customers for alternative financial information in the absence of statutory accounts.
