Micro-business exemption “will cause damage”

An overwhelming majority of finance professionals believe the government’s proposals to exempt micro-businesses from having to file accounts at Companies House will make it harder for firms to access trade credit.

According to new research from Graydon, the exemption proposals will likely result in suppliers not extending credit to their customers.The commercial credit referencing agency found that 88% of firms polled would ask customers for alternative financial information in the absence of statutory accounts.
