Companies House has changed its fee structure from 6 April 2011 to encourage more online filing. Whilst electronic filing documents such as the annual return will be £1 cheaper, the cost of filing paper equivalents is increasing greatly. For example, looking at the 3 most popular services provided by Companies House, the following applies:

Company incorporation

Old fee was £20

New fee is £40

Same Day incorporation

Old fee was £50

New fee £100

Annual return

Old fee £30

New fee £40

The only services that haven’t been increased are the standard incorporation service for those companies that are still not available electronically, mainly unlimited companies and Community Interest Companies, where the incorporation fee will remain at £20. The same day fee even these companies will be at the new rate of £100.
