Relationships between banks and their small business clients have undoubtedly suffered. With the economic recovery still fragile, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) wants banks to repair the damage and restore trust in order to help businesses grow.

The banks are trying. Recent independent research commissioned by the British Bankers Association (BBA) shows that things are improving but there is still some way to go.
